Well pump repair in Charleston, SC
No water at the tap? Pressure fading in and out? Most well problems trace back to the pump, pressure switch, tank or wiring, and many can be repaired without replacing the whole system.

Signs your well pump needs repair
If you notice any of these, it’s worth a call before a small problem gets bigger.
- No water from any faucet
- Pressure that surges or drops
- Pump running constantly
- Breaker tripping when the pump starts
- Sputtering faucets or air in the lines
- A jump in your electric bill
What gets checked
Every system is different, so the work starts with finding the real cause.
Pressure switch and controls
A worn or stuck switch is one of the most common causes of no water, and one of the easiest fixes.
Pressure tank
A failed tank makes the pump cycle on and off quickly, which wears it out early.
Wiring and power
Storms and power surges can damage wiring, capacitors and control boxes.
The pump itself
If the pump is failing, you’ll get a clear explanation of repair and replacement options.

Well pump repair questions
Call if you don’t see your question here.
What should I do if I have no water?
Check whether the breaker for the well pump has tripped and reset it once. If it trips again or there’s still no water, turn the breaker off and call for service.
Can a pump be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Switches, tanks and electrical parts can be replaced on their own. Replacement makes more sense when the pump motor itself has failed or the pump is very old.
How long do well pumps last?
Many last 10 to 15 years or more, depending on water quality, how hard the pump works and whether the pressure tank is in good shape.
